who says there isn't technical riding in Kingston??

Last minute FB'in with a local trailbuilder lead to a hammer fest of a ride through some loops I wouldn't have thought of linking together of the local terrain at Collins Bay. Decided to take a bit of a warm up ride en route to Meeting Sean through Lemoines point and STILL really baffled at the grotesque marking of signage making a huge no bike statement off of the main gravel walking paths.....just stupid...'nough said.

A cool moment occured just as I was taking a call while en route to meet sean at trailhead for an estimate on a timing belt service from a specific automotive dealership that sounded more like a SALES call than a SERVICE call...decided to order parts online...and have my tried and true mechanic install.....dealers....'nough said :) ANYWAYS.....a small fox was in my distance as I was pulled over to the side of the road taking the call and this small fox began making it's way RIGHT for me.....wondering if it was rabbid was eliminated and locked eyes while it quite cooly trotted by about 3 feet from me........very cool........extremely cool actually :)

Typical Sean fashion....hammering right out of the gate and trying to keep up with his 6" travel stumpjumper as he was weaving like a rattle snake around the terrain was a refreshing change in pace. A couple pauses due to flat tire, chit chatting with a fellow rider and about 26 km when it was all said and done. Arranging some plans for a night ride and commenting on rear suspension at end of ride surfaced ANOTHER rear flat.....too weird. Got home, swapped out the mosquito for the tried and true and well worn Nevgal with a new tube. Stats not inclusive of road ride home ~ 5 k:

1 hr 17 min
143 bpm avg
179 max
In zone 42; above 29; below 6 min
870 KCal
19.4 km minus about 5 or so km home via road
Avg spd 15.1.....technical; 37.3 max

Plan.....hmmmmmmm...oldest daughter has a "Tea Party" event with a little friend tomorrow....may throw my youngest in the bike stroller and go for a little rip around the sub division looking for "treasures" in yard sales :) Cottage Saturday night and probably a road ride/mountain on Sunday evening...one week until BBB.............should be a blast
